Cohere revelers enjoying the sounds from the Orchard Stage Sunday afternoon at Cohere 2017.

It all started in…

early October, 2011 when I lived in Carbondale and threw a birthday party for myself and other Libras and called it the “Libra Love Fest.” That night, there was an epic drum circle, fire dancers, and a wonderful collection of people celebrating life along the Crystal River. Joined by the seminal band Stonefed from Moab, UT, and DJ Paper from Los Angeles, CA, the seeds were planted for a biennial grass-roots community harvest celebration that would eventually move to Pumpkin Hollow in Paonia/Hotchkiss, Colorado. Now, heading into 2019, the 4th edition of Cohere, its more about the lessons we can learn from each other, wisdom from the elders, energy and new ideas from the youth, and the partnerships we share as we build coherent community. But we can also have a good time—stay tuned for news about this year’s Cohere Gathering, sure to be the best yet.
